Intellipoint software is USELESS
I installed the Intellipoint software (v5.0). The software lets me select which function I want to assign to those thumb keys. I remember having a similar mouse my computer at work a few years back that allowed me to program those thumb keys with a custom function. I cannot seem to remember how to do that.

I notice after installing the software, that my mouse freezes whicle my modem is receiving data. There are no conflicts in IRQ's, etc. Uninstalling the software, does not fix the problem. I have to re-install Win95 and then its okay. Installing the Intellipoint software, brings the problem back. Any suggestions?

I have tried downloading Microsoft's newest version of Intellipoint 4.1 but it does not work with my ("basic") mouse. Thus, I'm wondering if replacing the current 4.1 Intellipoint software by one of the newer versions of the software might give me back that configurable pointer acceleration setting. The latest version available as a download is v6.1 (32-bit). I gather that there were versions in between 4.1 and 6.1 also.
