OK, I installed Intellipoint 3.2 software on a Win98SE system. Ever since then, fast movement of the mouse (even in a straight line) causes the pointer to behave like its drunk. The problem is REALLY bad if you uninstall Intellipoint and go back to the default system drivers (try it and see).
